I know much more about knights than samurai, Floral Yes I’m a woman yes I drive a BMW no you can’t Dive it shirt so someone must weigh in if I make wrong assumptions. In general, they are very similar, and I’ll ignore the obvious differenced in clothing, sword styled, and armor that arises from being a world apart. Both were warriors in service to their feudal lord and granted a special rank in society in exchange for their service. Both were expected to be more than warriors: story-telling, poetry, and courtesy were important. Both had codes of conduct. One main difference is that the knight was primarily a heavy cavalryman. The knightly traditions grew out of the heavy cavalry of the franks and horsemanship was central to the life of a knight. Knights also fought as infantry (especially in the later period) and were often used in sieges as infantry, and also fought as light cavalry as part of raiding tactics.
