My favorite has always been Comfortably Numb. Vintage best goat mom ever mother’s day shirt Twas the first song I heard by them, and it has stood the test of time as I listened to each other album, a lot of times. It’s perfect, the intro grips you intensely, then singing classic Floydian conversations between Waters and Gilmour. Waters playing the drugged-out musician that’s scared, Gilmour playing the relaxing doctor figure with a manner that’s along the lines of “Everything will be alright.” The lengthy pre-chorus of the song has to be the most amazingly simple combination of beautiful scenic lyrics, relaxing vocals and backing instruments. As a guitarist, the solos put the song over the top for me. The first being over the chorus’s chords is peaceful, happy, and optimistic. The second being the most powerful piece of music I’ve ever heard. The solo starts slow, and at a lower pitch. It slowly gains speed as Gilmour finesses the Bm pentatonic scale, reaching for an epic climax an octave higher on the guitar. I feel high whenever I hear this song.

Dark Side of the Moon. This answer has fluctuated over the years for me. Vintage best goat mom ever mother’s day shirt I’ve loved all the big 4 albums at times. But, Animals and the Wall get too musically bland for me at times. There’s at least a 2-minute segment in each song on Animals where I’m bored. Yes, it’s trippy, but they did it better before DSOTM on Careful with that Axe, or Echoes, or Atom Heart Mother. And on the wall, there are like 10 songs that just kinda suck ass and you just accept that they are decent because you have to listen to them to finish the album. Empty Space? Vera? Don’t leave me now? C’mon, wtf is that? I wish Waters let Gilmour write more on that album. Between DSOTM and WYWH, I’d say they’re musically on level terms, but DSOTM has more variety.
